4 Great Ways to Make Your Bed Cozier and More Comfortable

Are you spending more time at home lately? Us, too. While we’ve avoided the temptation to stay in bed all day, every day, we can’t deny that a cozy bed makes all the difference, when it comes to the comfort of your apartment home. Not to mention, a cozy bed is great for providing you with rest and relaxation on a nightly basis. Try these tips, which will turn your bed into the oasis you’ve always dreamed of.

Purchase a mattress topper.

Mattress toppers are a must-have if you want to transform the feel of your bed. Mattress toppers are particularly great if you don’t have the cash to buy a new mattress but want to make your existing mattress more comfortable. Though good mattress toppers don’t come cheap, pay attention to sales (like the ones just after Christmas Day) and you can likely find one at a good price.

Upgrade your pillow.

How old is your pillow? Have you long forgotten? Consider upgrading where you lay your head at night by picking up a new pillow. As a bonus, a new pillow can also help relieve neck and shoulder pain, which can sometimes occur after sleeping. If you sleep on your side, choose a firm pillow. If you sleep on your back, choose a medium pillow. If you’re a stomach sleeper, choose a soft pillow.

Add a bed skirt.

Though a bed skirt won’t necessarily make your bed more comfortable at night, it will greatly enhance the look of your bed and the room it’s in. Think about it: cold metal beams are the opposite of comforting, right? So, pick up a bed skirt to insert underneath your mattress. The skirt will hide the legs of your bed and any items you may store under your bed while making the room cozier overall.

Try a gravity blanket.

A weighted, or gravity, the blanket is everyone’s favorite nap accessory. Formerly used in psychiatry clinics, weighted blanks have hit the mainstream. Sewn into the blanket are glass beads or poly pellets, which weigh down the blanket and create a sense of pressure, in turn stimulating the production of serotonin and dopamine. This results in a sense of instant calm.
